Why this business

Canada renovates millions of kitchens. Almost all of them need a countertop.

A new countertop is the single most transformative change in a kitchen, and it is on the shopping list of nearly every renovation, resale prep and new build. Demand is steady, high-value and recession-resilient, because even a cosmetic refresh usually starts with the counters.

The trade itself is fragmented. Most of your competition is a small fabricator or a big-box subcontractor with no brand, no guarantee, no booking system and no way for a homeowner to verify them. That gap is the opportunity, and it is what a franchise model is actually good at closing.

Support

What head office actually does for you.

Head office exists to make your territory easier to run. Here is exactly what that support covers.

01 / Training

Certification that assumes nothing

Half our franchisees have never cut a slab. The programme starts at digital templating and material identification, not at advanced fabrication.

02 / Lead flow

Homeowners routed to you

Applications submitted through the site are routed by postal code to the territory that covers them. You are not buying resold leads from an aggregator.

03 / Pricing

A quoting system, not a guess

Square footage, material, edge profile, cutouts and travel feed a pricing model built from thousands of completed Canadian kitchens. Underquoting is the most common way trade businesses fail.

04 / Supply

National purchasing power

Slabs, diamond blades, adhesives, sealers and consumables at network pricing rather than retail counter pricing.

05 / Brand

Credibility on day one

You arrive at a quote with a warranty, verified reviews, secured payment terms and a company behind you. Your solo competitor arrives with a phone number.

06 / Coaching

Someone whose job is your numbers

A dedicated business coach reviews your close rate, average job value and utilisation every quarter and tells you which one to fix first.

What you receive

What is included in a Countertop Canada Co. franchise.

A franchise is not a logo and a handshake. This is the complete package that comes with a territory, and the full commercial terms are set out in the Franchise Disclosure Document you receive before anything is signed.

Request the franchise kit below and we will walk you through all of it.
The business model

How a Countertop Canada Co. territory actually runs.

A countertop franchise is a fabrication-and-scheduling business wrapped around a trade skill. Understanding the rhythm of it matters more than any single number.

01

Enquiries arrive, you estimate

Homeowners in your postal codes find the national brand and enquire. You visit, measure, help them choose a material, and leave a fixed written price. Most owners run estimates in blocks two or three evenings a week.

02

Jobs are booked into a run

Each kitchen runs about a week from template to install, with the install itself a single day. A single crew handles several jobs in parallel across that window; a second crew lets you template and install more kitchens each week, which is where most territories find their step change.

03

The work is delivered to one standard

Templating, fabrication tolerances and seaming standards are identical in every territory. That consistency is what lets a homeowner in one city trust a review written in another, and it is the part we protect most carefully.

04

Referrals compound

Kitchens are visible and neighbours ask. Established territories see a growing share of work arrive by referral, which lowers acquisition cost over time and is the main reason this business gets easier in year two and three.

Is this you?
Good fitComfortable in front of homeowners in their own home. Willing to run a crew. Wants a business that produces something visible at the end of the week.
Also a good fitComing from outside the trades entirely. Roughly half our franchisees did. Sales, logistics and corporate operations backgrounds all transfer well.
Poor fitLooking for passive income, or planning to keep a full-time job through year one. This is an owner-operator model and it will not run without you in it daily.
CapitalThe funding in place to open a territory, whether from savings, financing or a combination. We talk this through openly at the first call.
The candidate

We would rather tell you no early than sell you in.

A franchise that awards territories to people who are wrong for the model ends up with underperforming units, unhappy franchisees and a damaged brand. That is bad for everyone, so the screening runs both ways.

During discovery day you will speak to existing franchisees without anyone from head office in the room. Ask them what the first six months actually looked like.

The path in

From first call to first kitchen.

Most candidates move from initial enquiry to opening in ten to fourteen weeks.

STAGE 01

Introductory call

Thirty minutes on your background, what you are looking for and the territory you have in mind. No cost and no pressure.

STAGE 02

Franchise kit and disclosure

You receive the full information package and the Franchise Disclosure Document, including fee structure, unit economics and territory maps. Canadian franchise law requires this at least fourteen days before you sign or pay anything, in the provinces that regulate franchising.

STAGE 03

Territory review

We model household counts, housing age profile and competitor density in your target area, then confirm whether it supports a single unit or a multi-unit build.

STAGE 04

Discovery day

A day at head office. Meet the leadership team, watch a live template and fabrication, and speak with existing franchisees privately.

STAGE 05

Award and certification

Agreement signed, territory locked, and the four-week certification programme begins. Your equipment ships during week three.

STAGE 06

Launch

Your city landing pages go live, ad spend points at your postal codes, and the first homeowner applications land in your dashboard.

Franchise questions

What candidates ask first

Do I need fabrication experience?

No. Roughly half our franchisees came from outside the trades. The four-week certification covers the technical work from digital templating upward. What we cannot teach is the willingness to be accountable for a stranger's kitchen.

Can I run this while keeping my job?

Not in year one. This is an owner-operator model that needs you on site or managing the crew daily. Franchisees who treat it as a side business consistently underperform, and we would rather say that now than after you have signed.

How large is a territory?

Territories are drawn by postal code and typically cover 60,000 to 120,000 households depending on density and housing age. A mix of older stock due for updates and new builds needing counters keeps demand steady across the year.

Is financing available?

We work with Canadian lenders familiar with franchise lending, and the Canada Small Business Financing Program is available to qualifying applicants. We are not a lender and cannot guarantee approval or terms.

Who generates the leads?

Central marketing runs Google Ads, the brand site and city landing pages, routing homeowner applications to your dashboard by postal code. You are still expected to build local presence through referrals and community visibility. The strongest territories do both.

Can I own more than one territory?

Yes, after twelve months of operating results in your first. Several franchisees now run multi-territory operations with dedicated crews, and adjacent territories are usually offered to the existing operator first.

What does a typical week look like?

In year one, roughly two days quoting in homeowners' kitchens, two to three days templating and installing with the crew, shop time on fabrication, and evenings on scheduling and follow-up. As you add staff, the balance shifts toward quoting and managing.

Is the business seasonal in Canada?

Less than most trades. Because the work is interior, winter does not stop it the way it stops roofing or landscaping. Demand does concentrate ahead of the holidays and in spring, and the territories that plan for that keep their crews busy through the quieter weeks.
